Building a Chile Roaster

Cool! I just got one of those (motorized) rotisseries @ Wal-Mart a few months ago. Had to shell out $25 bucks for it though. I like how you fit the threaded rod for the motor w/ a Dremel. Huge pepper fan here. Have a jalapeno overflow this year! After seeing the video, makes me want to rig up something like this for my rotisserie. Should be easy enough to fashion a cage like yours to slip over the rotisserie rod & clamp it on like the forks are done. Thanks for sharing your ingenuity!

The cage was made out of steel you buy at a home improvement store. It is a mesh used to cover your gutters. It comes in 3x6 sheets.

Thanks for posting this - the pie tins are a great idea for the end caps. Where did you get the motor?

The motor was bought at a rummage sale for $1. Someone posted and said you can get them at walmart new for about $25. I have not really been using the motor. It has just been as easy to turn by hand.

Thank you so much for the post! It's brilliant and I am so exited to make one myself.
